An upgrade of the Driefontein Water Purification Plant was scheduled to occur in 2 phases, where phase 1 of the upgrade was awarded to Eigenbau. The contract was for the design, supply, delivery, installation, testing, and commissioning of the mechanical and electrical works required to increase the plant capacity from 2 000 000L/day to 5 750 000L/day, while supplying certain equipment designed to be incorporated into the phase 2 upgrade which would take the capacity up to 9 500 000L/day.
